1. WHAT ARE COOKIES, WEB BEACONS AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES?

A Cookie is a unique alphanumeric identifier that may be placed on your computer (or other internet-enabled devices, such as a tablet or mobile phone) when you’re online. The unique alphanumeric identifier acts like a label, helping to distinguish you from other website users.  Cookies, therefore, provide useful information about your browsing actions and patterns.

  • First-party Cookies: These Cookies are set by the MiVoiceApp Site and read by MiVoiceApp. You can find more information about these Cookies in section 2, below.

  • Third-party Cookies: These Cookies are set by the MiVoiceApp Site and read by a third party. You can find more information about these Cookies in section 4 below.

  • Session / temporary: These Cookies are stored only while you’re connected to a particular website – they expire at the end of your browser session or are deleted from your device when you leave the website.

  • Permanent/persistent: These Cookies are not deleted from your device when you leave the website. They remain on your device until they expire.

Cookies do not contain software programs and cannot install anything (such as a virus) on a computer. A web beacon, also known as a web bug, is a small graphic (usually 1  pixel x 1 pixel), that is embedded in a web page, web advertisement or email, but is invisible to you. It operates as a tag that records your visit to a particular web page.

A server log (the log file generated by MiVoiceApp’s web server) provides information on how and when web pages and applications are being accessed. The log file details who accesses a graphic or specific web page, along with the time of access.

2. WHEN WE USE FIRST-PARTY COOKIES, WEB BEACONS, AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

Cookies

We use Cookies to collect information about your device, such as IP address, operating system and browser type. The types of Cookies that we  use are detailed below:

  • Strictly necessary. These Cookies help you to move around the MiVoiceApp Site. For example, if you are required to sign into the MiVoiceApp Site, the Cookies identify you as being signed in and remember you so that you don’t have to sign back in every time you move away and back to the MiVoiceApp Site.

  • Functional. We use these Cookies so that the MiVoiceApp Site can recall the choices you make. For example, these Cookies are capable of recognising if you’ve been to any MiVoiceApp Site before, so messages intended for first-time users are not displayed to you. We may also use functional Cookies to tailor content or advertisements to match your preferred interests and to avoid showing you the same advertisements repeatedly.

In addition to the reasons for our use of Cookies detailed above, we use the information gathered from Cookies – namely, IP addresses – to help diagnose problems with our servers and to administer MiVoiceApp Site.

Web Beacons

We use web beacons to track your movements to, from, and on the MiVoiceApp Site to determine the effectiveness of content and advertising campaigns. This enables us to count the number of times our advertisements and web-based email content are viewed.

Server logs

If you arrive at a MiVoiceApp Site by clicking on an advertisement that we have paid for (including a paid search engine result) or a link in an email sent from or on behalf of us, then we will capture information that tracks your visit from that link (e.g., referring URL,  browser information).

If you arrive at a MiVoiceApp Site by clicking a source not paid for by MiVoiceApp, such as a link in a non-paid search engine result or an unsponsored link on a third party’s website, we may capture information that tracks your visit from that source, to the extent we are able to do so. We may also capture information about your computer system, such as your browser type and operating system.

3. HOW TO CONTROL AND DELETE COOKIES

If you want to control the Cookies that are placed on your computer or other device, you could:

  • view Cookies stored on your hard drive;

  • choose whether or not to permit Cookies to be set by default;

  • delete the Cookies stored on your hard drive.

4. THIRD PARTY COOKIES SET ON THE MIVOICEAPP SITE

MiVoiceApp engages other third parties to provide analytical services. To provide these services to MiVoiceApp, our providers set and read analytical or performance Cookies on MiVoiceApp's behalf.

Example: Google Google Analytics is an ad management and ad serving technology. Google  Analytics places Cookies on the MiVoiceApp Site so that MiVoiceApp can record how many sign-ups and leads originated from its marketing  activity. 5. COOKIES SET BY THIRD PARTIES ON THIRD PARTY SITE

To enhance your experience on the MiVoiceApp Site, we may occasionally embed photos and video content from other websites, such as YouTube and Flickr. As a result, when you visit a page on a MiVoiceApp Site that features content from, for example, YouTube or Flickr, you may be presented with Cookies from these websites. MiVoiceApp does not control the dissemination of these Cookies. You should check the relevant third party’s website for more information about these Cookies.

MiVoiceApp Sharing Tools

We would like to draw your attention to the fact that the MiVoiceApp Site may contain embedded “share” and “like” buttons, enabling visitors to the MiVoiceApp Site to share content through various social media networks. These networks may set a cookie when you are logged in to their service. MiVoiceApp does not control the dissemination of these cookies, and you should check the relevant third-party website for more information about them.
